Nourishing the Community Since 2007

For nearly a decade, Lee's MarketPlace has been one of North Ogden's key providers of groceries.  It stands as a prominent landmark where the community gathers not only for daily grocery needs, but also for community events and celebrations.  Jonathan Badger, the owner of Lee's MarketPlace, is dedicated to keeping the store well stocked, clean, bright, and friendly as they continue to serve to the needs of the community.

"Lee's MarketPlace strives to reflect that hometown feeling and to be involved with the community.  As we move into the future, we will keep our reputation of having clean, bright, friendly stores with competitive prices."

Committed to Community Involvement

Lee's MarketPlace takes pride in their involvement with the local community.  They are excited to participate in a variety of fundraising events for non-profit charities or organizations.  Their support can include product donations, cash donations, gift cards, and using their front-of-store space.  Community organizations and charities can submit a donation request via a "Giving Back to the Community Form" on the Lee's MarketPlace website.

Lee's Trees Fund

For every reusable bag customers use, Lee's will donate $0.05 to the Lee's Trees Fund.  Lee's Trees helps our neighborhoods become a greener, healthier place by planting trees in our local community. The program also provides and encourages the use of reusable grocery bags, which inspires community members to be more eco-friendly.

School Cents Program

The School Cents Program is designed to help the schools in our neighborhood.  After Shopping at any of the Lee's Locations, customers can write their child's Elementary School on the back of the receipt and place it in the "School Cents" box located by the Customer Service Desk.  All receipts are counted and the top ten Elementary Schools will receive a check for school equipment, education materials, or school supplies.

The donation total for the School Cents Program is $10,000!

"Lee's MarketPlace is proud and excited about the opportunity to help the schools in our neighborhood. We are happy to provide an avenue for fundraising efforts to better the community, especially the children."

Interview with Owner Jonathan Badger

When did you first open?

We purchased Acre’s Market in the summer of 2007. After a significant remodel, we changed the name to Lee’s MarketPlace in the spring of 2008.

What is your favorite thing about being a part of North Ogden?

The loyalty and support of our team and shoppers.

What are some opportunities Lee’s Marketplace has taken to give back to the community?

We have participated in the Cherry Days parade and other local organizations such as the North Ogden Golf Tournament, Weber County Holiday Festival, and the Christmas Tree Jubilee.

Lee’s has sponsored the Cherry Days Fireworks for many years.  Why is that such an important event for you to sponsor?

When the city came to us several years ago asking for our support of the Cherry Days Celebration, we discussed which part of Cherry Days needed the most help.  It was decided that without a contribution, it would be hard to keep the fireworks tradition.  So for the past six years, it has been our privilege to help carry on this tradition and we will continue to do so for many years to come.

Why is giving back to the community so important to you?

As a company, community is one of our core values.  Without the support of our community, we wouldn’t be able to offer jobs and help those local organizations in need.  Giving back to the community is a small part of what we can do to show our appreciation.

What are your future plans for Lee’s Marketplace in North Ogden City?

We will continue to offer an enjoyable shopping experience with quality products and new local signature items.  We are also planning to offer a wider selection of natural and organic healthy products.  We continue to have exciting in store events with sales and a lot of fun.

Is there anything you would like to say to the community?

Thank you for your years of support.  We will continue to offer you the friendliest, cleanest shopping experience.  With your support, we will continue to be closed on Sunday.
