Land Use Code Update 2021

North Ogden City is working to reorganize and update the City’s Zoning and Subdivision ordinances, a process we are calling the Land Use Code Update.

The City completed an update to the General Plan in 2015, and are currently working on an update. The General Plan identifies goals, strategies, and top priorities to move the City forward, including an update to the Zoning and Subdivision ordinances.

The Zoning and Subdivision ordinances were last comprehensively updated in 2002. This Code Update process will advance implementation of the General Plan by making the City’s land use regulations more streamlined and user-friendly, reducing redundancies and vagueness. In addition, there have been many State Law changes that need to be addressed in the City’s ordinances.

The City has contracted with a consultant team who is working with City staff in combining the zoning and subdivision ordinances into one Land Use Code. This process aims to work closely with elected and appointed officials, while informing the public every step of the way,
