November: Hug-Hes Cafe

Hug-Hes Café

Hug-Hes Cafe was started in 1988 by Blake and Kathryn Hawkins in Ogden. The name is a play on Kathryn's maiden name, Hughes. This will be their 4th location. There are stores in Ogden, Layton and Syracuse and will now have one right here in North Ogden. They offer a wide variety of foods from sandwiches, salads, and burgers to full dinner entrees including chicken fried steak, chicken alfredo, stuffed pasta and shrimp, and even pork chops!

Their other locations are already hits and have earned a special place within those communities.
“Best American food restaurant in the area!  The beer bread is AMAZING and everything on the menu is good.  The cookies are also freaking delicious.”
--Kevin. T.

“Decidedly delicious, friendly service, good prices, nice menu--wanted to try everything! Nice dining experience outside with music and lighted trees at night. We'll be back!”
--Gail K.

“Pretty decent restaurant, a fairly classy atmosphere and tasty food, definitely a nice addition to the community.”

--Cody H.

We sat down with the owner, Nathan Richey, to find out a bit more about why they chose North Ogden as their new location.

So, why did you choose to open your business in North Ogden? We chose to open in North Ogden because we feel that we will have a very beneficial relationship mutually with the community. We hope to offer great food in an inviting and family-friendly atmosphere that will keep our North Ogden customers coming back. We are excited to be here!

Why do you feel it’s important to give back to the community? We are excited to be a part of North Ogden because we can feel the same excitement coming back to us from the community! We hope to be able to offer great food and experiences for many years to come. Giving back to the community is important because we would be nothing without the community. We love supporting local schools and events.

What are your plans for the future? Well, we will be opening November 8th at 10:30 am. Other than that, we currently don't have any specific plans for the future of the company, other than to continue to develop our menu and brand to stay current and fresh for our customers.

Is there anything you would like to say to the community? We would like to thank Mayor Taylor and the City for the work they have done and support they have given in helping us to open and be successful in North Ogden. Likewise, we would like to thank the community for backing us 100% and being so enthusiastic about our opening. We feel at home already.

Hug-Hes is located at 360 East 2600 North next to Lee’s Marketplace. Their grand opening is November 8th and business hours are available on their website. Welcome to North Ogden, Hug-Hes Café!
