VOLUNTEER WITH NORTH OGDEN CITY

North Ogden City has several opportunities for people to volunteer. Whether it be serving in an official capacity on the Council, Planning Commission, participating in Cherry Days, Volunteers In Police Service, Eagle Scout Projects, Arbor Day, City Cleanups, or other activities we hope this page will help connect people with volunteer opportunities.

Here are the links to the Official Boards and Commissions of the City:

  • City Council - These individuals are the governing board for the City. There are elections every two years for three of the six members of the Council. The next election will occur in 2021.
  • Planning Commission - These individuals handle most of the land use applications, like subdivisions, rezoning, commercial building plans, etc. These individuals serve for five year terms and a few of the seats are up for appointment by the Mayor every January. Applications for these seats are found under the Human Resources pages.
  • Economic Development Committee - These individuals help provide recommendations to the Mayor and City Council regarding attracting businesses or building sales tax resources in North Ogden City.
  • Arts Guild - This group will be organized the first part of 2020. They will help guide the cultural activities in the City.
  • General Plan Steering Committee - This group helps to review and amend the City's General Plan. The General Plan is the guiding document for land use decisions in the City.

Here are links to other Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS Program) - These individuals assist the Police Department in a variety of ways. They have been a huge support in helping the Police Department extend their ability to protect our community.
  • Scouting and Community Volunteer Projects - We have had several eagle scouts and scouting groups and other groups of volunteers provide projects and service hours across our community. We have ideas for a few projects that can be completed, but are always open to input.
  • Cherry Days - We always have a need for individuals to volunteer at Cherry Days. It doesn't always require a commitment on July 4th as we can always use a little help setting up and taking down some things.
  • Coaching Sports - The City is always looking for volunteers to help with coaching our many sports teams. There are some specific guidelines we follow, but encourage people who want to help to apply.
  • North Ogden Parks and Trails Committee We are a resident-led community group in North Ogden that aims to help city officials know what residents want, create community involvement for parks and trails and assist the city of North Ogden provide safe outdoor spaces for our community. We meet every month on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 5:30pm in the North Ogden Park pavilion (weather permitting). The public is welcome and encouraged at all meetings.
