The North Ogden Police Department’s Volunteers in Police Service (V.I.P.S.) program has been actively serving the community since December, 2009. V.I.P.S. is comprised of community volunteers who have passed criminal background checks, and who assist our officers by doing security checks of our parks, school and businesses, as well as assist with vacation checks while residents are our out town. They can often be seen doing traffic control at parades, races and other special events, and helping with court security and other functions that free our full-time officers for more urgent responses. Between 2010 and 2014, the V.I.P.S. volunteers have performed over 2000 hours of volunteer service to our community.
